The Stockings Are Hung...

...by the chimney with care, glitter paint and all.

I love our little tree, and cheapo Wal-Mart ornaments [plus Jake's Family Guy ornaments, minus Peter who is currently in the Monopoly box..], and obnoxious singing froggie, and makeshift neon green tree skirt [slash random piece of fleece fabric I found in the closet after someone convinced me not to spend $10 on a tacky Wal-Mart tree skirt. I'm glad I listened.] It truly is starting to feel a lot like Christmas time.

The boys put up the outside lights yesterday, but only made it halfway across the house and ran out. So we bought some more strands of icicle lights last night that will hopefully get put up tonight.

I am currently working on some felt ornaments to add to the tree and maybe some snowflake decorations [inspired by these, but I'm sure mine won't turn out nearly as pretty].

I would still love to find some mistletoe, maybe a couple wreaths for the front door and over the mantle, and if we get really crazy some kind of wood cut-out Santa yard display [ha! this probably will not happen, but Jake and I were really excited about it last night.]

Did I mention that I love this time of year?

This made me LOL. Love the cheesy holiday sense. If you can't have a sense of humor about it ...

Evan bought me a "red starbucks cup" ornament simply because I love when the red cups replace the green - a sign of the holidays!

Tacky, but I love it!
