Thanks to my boyfriend, I have fallen in love with wood.

He's a woodworker trapped in a stressful engineering job. He dreams of starting his own wood shop, escaping his cubicle to spend his days with sawdust and power tools. He's always browsing and clicking and saving pretty images he finds for inspiration. Beds. Dressers. Tables and chairs.

I think these pictures he collects give him hope and encourage his dream to do what truly makes him happy. I can't wait for the day it becomes a reality. It's become my dream for him too.

I thought I should help. I can't be trusted with power tools, but I am pretty good at finding inspiring images.

I started a tumblr to keep all these inspirational images I find for him, so they would stop cluttering our computer desktops. It was just a little way to stay organized.

Before, I never even paid attention to wood.

Now? I'm head over heels. I wonder how I never appreciated its beauty before, or its many forms and functions.

Check out the archives for more gorgeous wood photos.

I can't get enough.

I love these pretty chalkboard walls from the latest Anthropologie catalog. I wouldn't mind having the gorgeous colorful bedding pictured here too.

I hung out with some of my girlfriends last night and ended up at one friend's studio apartment in downtown Tulsa. She has this slightly eerie, but amazing painting on her wall and I'm so glad another friend asked about it. It was definitely a conversation piece. I think we all loved it for different reasons, even if we couldn't pinpoint exactly why. I love art that draws you in and makes you wonder what the artist was thinking at the time.

The painter, Nathan Price, is a local musician and artist. Here are a few more of his pieces from his website:

I love his color palette and bold, loose brushstrokes.

It's always fun to discover a new favorite artist, especially a local talent.

Do you love these as much as I do? Have you found any amazing new artists recently? Please share links in the comments if you have.

You can find out more about Nathan Price here.

Just dropping in quickly to share this fantastic porch. Isn't it perfect? I would give anything to be swaying in that hammock with an ice cold glass of lemonade right now.

Hope you're all having a lovely week!

In my search for a white summer tote, these striped beauties kept popping up. And I kept clicking for a closer look. And one by one they somehow found themselves added to my favorites.

I think it's a sign that I need some stripes in my life. What do you think?

Randy and his friends have been fishing all weekend at Lake Sahoma. I've mostly been watching and wandering around the park to take pictures. The fish have actually been the least interesting part of this fishing adventure. The only ones biting were tiny and I'm convinced the guys were catching the same two fish over and over again.

I've most enjoyed the friendly ducks and geese [they walked right up to me!] and attempting to photograph all the cool spiderwebs dangling from the dock.

My petunias are growing like mad in their tiny pots on the kitchen windowsill. I'm honestly amazed I haven't managed to kill them yet.

I am quite the amateur when it comes to plants and have been using a boring drinking glass to water them daily. It gets the job done, but also tends to make a wet mess all over the counter.

I'm thinking one of these vintage watering cans might work a little better. Aren't they pretty?
