Happy Birthday Riley

Today was Riley's first birthday!

I can't believe he's already a year old. It seems like just yesterday he was our tiny four pound sleepy fluff ball.



To celebrate, I made him peanut butter and carrot cupcakes and got him a giant tennis ball, which he has already chewed to shreds in under an hour. I think that's a sign of a good first birthday for this dog.

Life has been busy.


Good news though! We have a wedding date!!

July 23, 2011 will be the big day.

And we have a venue. And colors.

And that's about all I have accomplished so far on the wedding front.

Luckily, we still have lots of time. But I know it will be here before I know it.

I can't even look at websites like theknot.com right now because the wedding countdown and crazy to-do list overwhelms me more than it motivates me. I'm pretty sure I'm already months behind according to their calculations.

This week's wedding goal is to sift through the many amazing photographers I've found and hopefully narrow them down to the one very soon. I need to get working on our Save the Dates too, but I have no idea what I want our stationery to look like yet.



In between design work and wedding planning, I've finally managed to get my digital paper packs back in the shop. Hooray! I'm still working on a few more sets.



I've also given my portfolio site a bit of an overhaul. I finished the redesign a few weeks ago, but just started updating the content over the weekend. I basically started over from scratch, so I'm only about halfway through uploading my work, but you can check it out so far. I'm so happy with the new layout and I hope it will be easier to navigate now too.

I've been dreaming a lot about our future home lately. Now that we're engaged, it finally seems like it will be a reality in just a short time. We've been casually house hunting for at least the past year, but I know in the spring we will actually feel the pressure to find THE ONE, for real. I'm so excited to get some new furniture [like a couch the dog hasn't eaten! and a dining table so we can stop eating every meal on that darn couch!].

I think that's why I'm so nuts about hanging onto every bit of decor inspiration I find lately. It will be so much fun to put these ideas into action.
